Penn depop
2024 React Web AppIntroduction: Clearly Penn students have a lot to give away! Many students struggle to find a convenient way to buy, sell, or donate second-hand items within their community. Existing solutions, like social media or informal networks, are often disorganized, inefficient, and lack a centralized platform. This creates missed opportunities for students who could benefit from affordable, lightly used items and those looking for a simple way to pass them on. Our users would primarily target the entire Penn community who is looking to buy or sell second hand.
Web app was created using React, Tailwind CSS, and Firebase for Authentication.
Improvements and reflection: Much of the code could be rewritten to take use of the principle DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself) and would be more functional with a custom backend for more streamlined database calls.
